I'm a design educator, researcher and Programme Leader in the School of Graphics, Art and Media at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.
My teaching centres on communication design and media practice. Topics I cover include; design-led research, user experience design, data visualisation and critical design. I am a co-founder of iLab, an interactions, prototyping and research space.
I have been a visiting lecturer at London College of Communication, Kingston University and Suzhou Art and Design Technology College in China. I am a Fellow of the HEA and currently external examiner at University of West London and Northampton University.
My writing has been published in the Journal of Communication Design, the journal of Cultural Politics and I have peer-reviewed for Convergence journal.
Previously I worked as a freelance and in-house designer for a range of agencies and clients in London.
I have an MRes in Arts and Cultural Research from University of Brighton and an MA in Design with Teaching and Learning from Kingston University. Going back a few more years, I studied on the BA (Hons) Design Studies programme at Goldsmiths, University of London.
I also work as an unpaid butler to a small spaniel.
